Cayman Islands Grand Slam - Get Ready!

TigerBalm Internationals

The Dojo was closed for Saturday and Sunday March 15th and 16th in order to attend the Tiger Balm Tournament at Capiliano College in North Vancouver. 

Those who participated on Saturday for Black Belt Competitions were:  Instructor Damieon, Instructor Jason, Joward, Shirley, Indigo, and Ashley.

On Sunday, the competitors for the underbelt divisions were:  Kevin P, Steven, Jonell, Martin, Tony, Kieran, Lisa, Aaron, Noah, and Lukas.

Everyone did very well - Congratulations!

Grading Week

MONDAY NOVEMBER 5, 2007:     NO CLASSES IN SESSION

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2007:   SEMINAR WITH PROFESSOR DON JACOB

Learn the Don Jitsu Ryu System from founder Professor Jacob who has over 40 years experience in the Martial Arts.  Participate in techniques and bring your notebook; Professor is one of the most powerful lecturers in the world today! Pre-registration as space is limited!

LOCATION: AT THE DOJO  6:00 - 9:00PM APPROXIMATELY

ADULTS: $75              KIDS: $50                    SPECTATORS: $25

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2007:        GRADING DAY 1 AT THE DOJO FOR ALL TOTS & KIDS BELT RANKS WHITE - GREEN

TOTS:  Ages 4 - 6 all belt ranks will be graded together at 4:15pm - 6:15pm approximately

KIDS:   All White - Green Belts at 6:30pm - 8:30pm approximately

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 8, 2007:             CLOSED FOR WEST SIDE DOJO GRADING

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2007:               GRADING DAY 2 AT THE DOJO FOR ALL ADVANCED KIDS & ADULTS

KIDS:   All Blue – Brown Belts at 4:15pm - 6:30pm approximately

ADULTS: Will be graded together at 7:00pm - 9:00pm approximately

 Belt Change Ceremony will be held on Tuesday November 20, and Wednesday November 21, during class times.

November 12:  Dojo Closed for Remembrance Day

October 14:  West Side Tournament

On October 14 Sensei Amber hosted a tournament at UBC Student Union Building.  Canadian HQ participants did very very well!  Canadian HQ brought out the war paint and noise makers which got everyone energized and ready for action.

CMA Tournament Port Alberni

Sensei Daniel's competition team went to Port Alberni on Vancouver Island September 22.  Everyone arrived at the dojo at 430am to take the ferry to get to the tournament.  Excellent work team!

Fun Day 2007

This year we met at Memorial Park and had a great Potluck feast once again.  Many thanks to all the parents and supporters for making it so much fun.  Check out the video in the Videos section of our web site.  This year the Dads beat the Instructors 10-9 at our annual soccer game.  Yes - the Instructors will have to train harder to take back the (virtual) trophy next year!

Canadian Grand Slam

Successfully completed with over 300 competitors.  Excellent job to all who participated and a big thanks to Professor, Shihans, Senseis, Instructors, brothers and sisters of Purple Dragon, parents, volunteers, judges and officials, competitors, and everyone who made the event such a great success!

JUNE 2007 GRADING SCHEDULE

  MONDAY JUNE 4^TH:  CLOSED FOR WEST SIDE DOJO GRADING

TUESDAY JUNE 5^TH:  GRADING DAY 1 AT THE DOJO FOR ALL TOTS & KIDS CLASSES

TOTS - Ages 4 - 6 all belt ranks will be graded together at 4:15pm - 6:15pm approximately

KIDS - The 4:15 & 6:15 classes will be graded together at 6:30pm - 8:30pm approximately

WEDNESDAY JUNE 6^TH:  GRADING DAY 2 AT THE DOJO FOR ALL ADVANCED KIDS  & ADULT’S CLASS

KIDS - The advanced kids will be graded together at 5:00pm - 7:15pm approximately

 ADULTS - Will be graded together at 7:30pm - 9:00pm approximately

 THURSDAY JUNE 7^TH:  REGULAR CLASSES IN SESSION

We are pleased to be hosting the grading at the Dojo and we know that the energy will be tremendous for the students and parents. To ensure that the grading is on schedule we would like to ask students and parents to promptly depart once the Tots and the Kids exams have been dismissed so that we do not delay the following grading.  Space is limited and we greatly appreciate everyone's cooperation. 

 IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO ARRIVE FULLY DRESSED IN THEIR GI’S WITH WHITE T-SHIRTS UNDERNIETH AND SPARRING GEAR IN HAND. CHANGE ROOM SPACE IS LIMITED.
